GENERAL INFO
Load In/Load Out
There is both a driveway and street parking available upon arrival. If you have heavy, cumbersome gear it is advisable park in the driveway and let staff know of your arrival. They can open the roller door. We have ramp access to all studios with dolly’s provided. The front door and roller door must be closed at all times during the session.
Setting Up
The session you have booked includes Load In and Load Out, unless otherwise discussed. Please factor this time into your session. Generally, you can expect at least 1 hour to completely set up all of your gear and equipment. (The same applies for packing down).
Amenities
The Common Room (couches and pool table), Kitchenette, Kitchen, Courtyard and Toilets are available for use during your Session. The Courtyard, Kitchen and Toilets are located at the rear of the studio. The Kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, microwave and fridge. Instant coffee and tea are provided, though fresh coffee, food and drink can be brought.
Shops
We are located in a well developed area. We have Cafe’s and Restaurants along with the Coburg North Village filled with a variety of restaurants and groceries a short drive away.
Leaving during a session?
If you intend on leaving during a session at least one member needs to stay at the studio to ensure security. The front door must always be closed during the entirety of the session. If under special circumstances someone cannot stay at the studio a staff member must be contacted to organise the studio to be opened again. Even if it seems like there are tenants in the building, they will not be expected to open the facility for you.
RECORDING STUDIO
Gear
All Microphones, stands and cables are stowed away in the Tracking Room. The Microphones are neatly packed in a Wardrobe along with DI’s, Headphones and other accessories required for your recording session. If you have inquiries for equipment please check our Gear List first. All XLR and ¼” cables are neatly rolled with Velcro straps on the cable tree. We have three baffles along with a motorised cloud for adaptive baffling options. Please refer to staff for operations of the cloud.
Getting Started
If you have not recorded with us before and you are using an external engineer then it is important for the engineer to familiarise themselves with the signal flow of the studio. We have a 1:1 pathway, with a physical patch bay that gives you access to all of the outboard gear in the Control Room. A technician will be available to assist the engineer for the first hour of the session free of charge. If further assistance is required or the technician believes the engineer will not be able to effectively run the session then an hourly rate of $50 p/h will be added to the session cost for the technician.
